This week secondary centre Art students have been celebrating key figures from Black History by creating mixed media portraits. Students were introduced to the topic with a photograph quiz. Did they recognise anyone? Or know anything about them when they heard their name? We watched dramatisations about the lives of Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman and George Washington Carver throughout the week, and created portraits of the person each student admired most from what they had learnt. Students at Bridgnorth centre also created a chain of words they felt about segregation.
