History on our doorstep – a visit to Berrington Hall

Students at Ludlow centre visited Berrington Hall, an 18th century country house.

Ludlow students took a short minibus trip to Berrington Hall to visit the house and gardens. They enjoyed spending time in the property’s substantial outdoor space, looking at autumnal plants, flowers, and a wide variety of apple trees. Once inside the house itself, the students had an excellent introduction to the history of Berrington Hall from one of the very knowledgeable guides. They also enjoyed looking at the exhibition inside the house, full of fascinating and curious objects – including the Mantua Dress, which is the widest dress in all the National Trust properties! The visit concluded with a warm and cosy lunch in Berrington Hall’s café. The students had a great time on the trip, learning about local history and spending time outdoors.
