Students had a themed day in Art today learning about Chinese New Year. Students learnt about the story and traditions of Chinese New Year and which animal of the Chinese zodiac they are, based on the year they were born. 

To achieve the Unit Award students had to create their own animal portrait. Some chose to paint them and create fur textures by dry brushing, some used pencil crayon using different types of mark making to create fur textures, and others used ink to look like Chinese calligraphy. 

All students rounded off their lesson with a fortune cookie each.
