Bearstone Fruit Farm

The students at HEC enjoyed a fantastic day at Bearstone Fruit Farm!

The students visited Bearstone Fruit Farm to learn about how fruit and vegetables grow. They began their day by exploring the farm and creating a 'journey card' to show the different types of grasses and flowers which grow there. The students then worked together to go on a mini-beast hunt where they found a variety of insects and hundreds of baby frogs! After a picnic lunch, it was time to start fruit picking: the students picked and tasted different fruits, as well as picking runner beans, spring onions and beetroot. Strawberry-picking was an activity enjoyed by them all and the students really appreciated taking a punnet home to share with their families. It was a brilliant day!
