Our budding scientists enjoyed an exciting afternoon learning about the power of food and how different foods react. They watched in awe as Usma from the Royal Institute made a jelly baby explode, and demonstrated the chemical reaction that takes place when Mentos and Coca-Cola are combined. Several students also took part in a practical demonstration of the human digestive system and were fascinated by how our bodies get energy from the food we eat.
