Pathways to Resilience

The Six Day Provision group at HEC have embarked on a journey towards being more resilient with the Pathways to Resilience programme.
A group of students at HEC have been taking part in the Pathways to Resilience programme, where they have been learning how to build resilience and calm their nervous system. By exploring the different parts of the brain and practising how to listen to their “wise owl” (the frontal cortex) rather than the “howling wolf” (the amygdala), they are developing strategies to manage challenges more effectively. Through roleplay, they have also explored the importance of empathy, including how to speak to themselves in a kind and understanding way. Each session includes balanced breathing techniques and ends with a calming child’s pose. Throughout the week, students are encouraged to notice moments when they have shown resilience in other lessons, ready to celebrate these in their next session.
