Water, water everywhere, but not a drop to drink!

Oswestry student visited Plas Power near Wrexham.

A student from the Oswestry Centre visited Plas Power Woods, near Wrexham. Before even getting up onto the woodland path, we could see the level of water in the local stream that flows through the wood was very high. Walking through the woods was very tricky, attempting to navigate muddy paths and dodge swampy areas along the way. We saw some interesting wildlife, including a tree creeper and a nuthatch, too. When we finally reached the waterfall, which is a feature of the walk through the woods, it was an absolute torrent, and was so noisy we couldn't even hear each other shout!

On the way back we decided to do some water divining using some old sticks we found. Unfortunately, despite the proliferation of water, the divining rods showed no sign of reacting to the presence of water!
