Secondary

TMBSS has five secondary centres across Shropshire located in: Shrewsbury; Ludlow; Bridgnorth and Oswestry.

Three centres cater for students from Year 7 to Year 11 who are experiencing difficulties in mainstream school due to social, emotional or mental health challenges which are often presented in their behaviours. Other students who attend these centres have been permanently excluded from mainstream schools.

Two centres cater for students who have a diagnosed medical condition including high anxiety and other mental health issues.

The main purpose of TMBSS is to provide a short-term educational placement while assessing the needs of the individual students. Once an assessment period has taken place we will either recommend a return to mainstream provision or that an appropriate specialist provision should be sought by the local authority's SEN team, parents are consulted at every stage and their contributions are essential.
