Disabled Adventurer

Pupils from Harlescott have been visited by Darren Edwards, who is a disabled adventurer. Darren shared his inspiring story.

Pupils at Harlescott were fascinated by Darren's inspiring story.  As a result of a climbing accident, Darren sustained a life-changing injury in 2016, which left him paralysed from the chest down.  Darren refused to be beaten and let his injuries define him.  He continues to challenge himself and completed the first kayaking trip from Land's End to John O'Groats, which is over 1000 miles!  He is aiming to be the first disabled person to complete the World Marathon Challenge - 7 marathons in 7 continents, over seven days!
